NeuroPing does not create an account, a user ID, an advertising identifier, or an install identifier. There is no identifier that could link this installation to you or to another app, because the app has no server to report one to.
When you tap "Run a scan," NeuroPing reads:
192.168.1.24)All of this is stored only on your phone, in app-private storage. It is not transmitted anywhere.
The Magnetic anomaly sweep reads the phone's magnetometer while you sweep. Readings are processed in real time and not retained beyond the current sweep session.
When you tap "Probe travel signals" in the Traveler tab, one of the calls NeuroPing makes is to https://ipapi.co/json, which returns the city, region, country, and ISP associated with your public IP. This is the only network activity anywhere in the app that Apple's privacy framework classifies as a "collected data type" (Coarse Location) — see Third-party services below.
This is used solely to score your travel readiness. ipapi.co is not provided by us — it is a third-party service with its own privacy policy (linked below). The result is not persisted on any server we control. If you never probe travel signals, this call never happens. (The same tap also fires several other outbound calls that don't return anything about you — see below.)
Every other feature that touches the internet contacts public endpoints to measure them. None of these calls send your scan results, device list, or any other local-network data — just the request itself (your source IP and a standard User-Agent header, the same as any web request):
api.ipify.org (public IP), speed.cloudflare.com (download/upload throughput), 1.1.1.1 (latency, a 10-ping burst), and cloudflare-dns.com, dns.google, dns.quad9.net (DNS resolver comparison).fsn1-speed.hetzner.com, proof.ovh.net, https://sgp.proof.ovh.net, speedtest.dallas.linode.com, speedtest.atlanta.linode.com, speedtest.fremont.linode.com, https://speedtest.mumbai1.linode.com, speed.cloudflare.com.1.1.1.1; the tap-to-sample ping monitor pings www.cloudflare.com once per tap.www.google.com/generate_204) and four parallel service-latency pings: 1.1.1.1, www.google.com/generate_204, captive.apple.com/hotspot-detect.html, and www.cloudflare.com. (The same tap also reads your coarse location — see above.)1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1 about every 750 ms, to plot signal quality as you move through your home. Stops the moment you end the walk.Every probe here is a standard, timed HTTPS request; we don't attach any identifying payload beyond what the request already carries. Results stay on your phone.
| Permission | Why we ask | If you deny |
|---|---|---|
| Local Network (iOS) | Scan devices on your Wi-Fi | Device discovery skipped; rest of the app works |
| Motion / magnetometer (iOS) | Magnetic anomaly sweep | The sweep won't function; other tabs work |
| Network State, Wi-Fi State, Multicast (Android) | Same scan functionality | Same as above |
All data stays on your phone. iOS / Android handle storage encryption at the OS level. Specifically:
AsyncStorage, which does not encrypt data itself; it's protected the same way any app's local files are, by iOS/Android device-level encryption — until you delete the app or clear the data manuallyIf you uninstall NeuroPing, iOS / Android removes all locally-stored data. We have no copies on our infrastructure to delete because we never received them in the first place.
NeuroPing is rated 4+ in the App Store and does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app collects no personally-identifying information from any user regardless of age.
NeuroPing contacts these third-party services over HTTPS during normal use. The public-IP and internet-quality checks run automatically after each scan you run, and only on an unmetered link (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) — never on cellular; the rest only run when you open a specific tab (Traveler, Signal walk) or start a specific test (Speed Test, Lag Test).
| Service | When | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
Cloudflare (speed.cloudflare.com, 1.1.1.1, www.cloudflare.com, cloudflare-dns.com) | Automatic checks, Speed Test, Lag Test, Signal walk, Traveler — latency, throughput, and DNS | Source IP, User-Agent. No payload data. |
| Hetzner / OVH / Linode | Speed Test & Lag Test download mirrors | Source IP, User-Agent. Serve test data only. |
| ipify.org | Basic check (runs after a scan) | Source IP, User-Agent. Responds with your public IP. |
| ipapi.co | Traveler tab (when you probe) | Source IP, User-Agent. Responds with city/region/ISP. |
Google (www.google.com/generate_204, dns.google) | Traveler tab (captive-portal check, when you probe) + automatic DNS comparison | Source IP, User-Agent. Used for captive-portal detection + DNS resolver comparison. |
Apple (captive.apple.com) | Traveler tab (when you probe — service-latency check) | Source IP, User-Agent. Standard iOS/macOS captive-portal detection endpoint. |
| Quad9 | Automatic DNS comparison (after each scan you run) | Source IP, User-Agent. Used for DNS resolver comparison. |
These services are not provided by NeuroPing LLC. They have their own privacy policies:
What these services receive, and the standard we hold them to. Every one of these requests is an ordinary HTTPS request, so the provider necessarily sees your IP address and a standard User-Agent string. We do not send them your scan results, your device list, your Wi-Fi network name, or any identifier. We have selected each provider on the basis that its published privacy commitments give user data protection equal to or exceeding what this policy describes and what the App Store Review Guidelines require. If a provider stops meeting that standard, we will replace it and update this policy.
We hold no copy of your data, so there is no account to close and no server-side record to request. Everything below you can do yourself, immediately, without contacting us.
We cannot delete data on your behalf because we never receive any.
Every outbound feature is opt-in by use — stop using it and the requests stop.
Where the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the Saudi PDPL, or the UAE PDPL apply, the controller is NeuroPing LLC (contact below).
Questions about this policy: support@raffscompanylimited.com.
If a future version of NeuroPing adds new data collection or new third-party services, this policy will be updated. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Significant changes (new data category, new third party) will be announced in the app's onboarding flow and in the App Store release notes.
NeuroPing is operated by NeuroPing LLC, which is the controller for any personal data described above. The app is distributed on the App Store through an individual Apple Developer account, so the App Store listing shows the seller as the individual who owns that account rather than the company name.
